Desert Hills Lodge offers 18 individual luxury huts, each with a private bathroom, air conditioning, and a minibar. Every room includes a balcony overlooking the mountains, providing a direct view of the Namib Desert landscape. The architectural design draws directly from the San peoples' grass huts, making each hut a distinctive structure that blends into the arid surroundings.

Dining

A daily continental breakfast is served in the lodge restaurant, with meals also available on the terrace facing the desert. For early departures to Sossusvlei, the hotel prepares packed lunches upon request. Dinner offers a four-course menu with options that accommodate special diet menus, and the restaurant stocks wine and champagne.

Activities & Location

The lodge is situated 22 miles from the Sossusvlei and Sesriem section of Namib Naukluft National Park, making it a short drive to the dunes. On-site game drives provide opportunities to spot wildlife such as oryx and jackals, while hiking trails start from the property. Personalized tours for Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon can be arranged by the 24-hour front desk.

Pool & Amenities

The outdoor swimming pool sits with a view of the surrounding hills, and guests have access to sun loungers and pool/beach towels. A shallow end makes the pool suitable for children, and the pool area is kept clean with regular towel changes. Free WiFi is available in the public areas, and free parking is provided on-site.

Services

Upon arrival, guests receive a warm welcome drink and a refreshing towel, a standard part of the check-in process. Daily housekeeping, ironing service, and private check-in/check-out are offered to all guests. The lodge also runs a shuttle service and provides a shared lounge and TV area.
